My Favorite Computer Games

From Eric of the Web - Owner of Teenage Lounge

My all time favorite is computer games. Currently I own a 486DX/66 (which might be upgraded to a Pentium) with 32 Megs of RAM. My favorite games are shareware because they are cheaper and better.

Games available as shareware -
Wacky Wheels -
A game you'll hate to finish.
The wild kingdom of Formula-1 racing. In the commercial version choose from 8 different animal friends. 30 different race tracks in all and 12 shootout zones. Play with a friend on the same computer, through serial link, or even over the modem. To get addicted download the shareware version via ftp. Check out the Game Bytes review of WW. From Apogee Software.
Rise of the Triad -
Kill your enemies! Kill your friends.
You are a member of the HUNT, the top secret High-risk United Nations Taskforce, sent on extremely covert operations to possible trouble spots outside the three-mile boundary waters of member countries. You are investigating a breakout of cult activity on a small island in the Gulf of Santa Catalina. Little do you know that your battle here is only the beginning of the Dark War about to be waged. Fight bravely and survive the onslaught of hundreds of the evil Oscuridos, because you have to defeat their well-armed and heavily-funded forces to reach their master, El Oscuro, in the next game! I mean--next mission. Oops. Choose one of 5 characters and equip yourself with top of the line weapons such as heat seeking missiles. Play over modem or local network. Tops all "Doom wanna-be's". Click here to ftp ROTT to you. Click here to see Rott reviewed by Gamebytes Magazine. Also from Apogee.
Jazz Jackrabbit -
A GROUND-BREAKING game with ULTRA-SMOOTH, FAST VGA graphics, ROCKING Digital Audio with Surround Sound, and WHITE-HOT action. YOU MUST SEE IT TO BELIEVE IT! Look out Sonic. Jazz Jackrabbit is coming towards you at light speed, and this little bunny carries a big gun! Lead the animated Jazz across the galaxy to save kidnapped bunny princess Eva Earlong. Wanna see a Game Bytes Review of Jazz Jackrabbit. Of course you do. Download Jazz Jackrabbit. From Epic Megagames (see homepage link below)
Games not available as shareware -

Lemmings and Lemmings the Tribes -
Of course you've heard of the game where you save our furry little friends. Mind challenging puzzles. Guide the lemmings to the exit by assigning these low intelligence life forms various building and digging jobs. Lemmings is a very popular computer game which has been available on the computer market for several years. The aim of the game is to save as many lemmings as you can by helping them with their journey. Lemmings is a very addictive game and once one starts to play it, it can be very difficult to stop. Oh No! The Lemmings Web Page. I strongly recommend this link. Here is all the Lemmings demos in one place, courtesy of Lemmings Web Page (above). From Psycnosis.
Colonization -
Great sequel to the all time champion Civilization. Land your small crew from your ship in the new world, explore, establish prosperous colonies, and eventually break away from your European mother. Colonization was reviewed by Game Bytes #21. GB Magazine also provides The Colonization Strategy Guide From Microprose.

Note: Many of the above pictures are from Game Bytes - the WWW editions and other sites on the Web.
